7 Create Your DistroKid Account

Create your DistroKid account and choose the appropriate membership plan.

Once you're inside your account, select the option to upload music.

8 Select Your Music Services

Choose the streaming services and stores where you want your music distributed.

9 Enter Your Artist Information

11 How to Fill Out the AI Section

This is one of the most important parts if you are releasing music created with AI.

DistroKid asks whether any part of your track was generated by AI. If AI was involved, answer truthfully.

🎤 The Lyrics Select this when AI generated the lyrics.

🎵 The Music Select this when AI composed the music or melody.

🔊 All of the Audio Select this when everything the listener hears was generated by AI.

🎧 Part of the Audio Select this when some of the audio was generated by AI and some was created by a human.

Example:

If you wrote the lyrics yourself but Suno generated the music and vocals, make sure your AI disclosure accurately reflects the AI-generated portions.

If AI generated the lyrics, music, vocals and instrumental, disclose the applicable AI involvement accordingly.

If you select an option indicating the audio is entirely AI-generated, DistroKid may also ask whether your artist name represents a human artist or an AI persona.

12 Apple Music & Producer Information

PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART!

If you select Apple Music during your upload, carefully complete any producer information or other required information shown by the DistroKid upload form.

If DistroKid will not allow you to continue because producer information is missing, complete the required information accurately.

If you do not want to distribute your release to Apple Music, you can remove/unselect Apple Music if the upload form gives you that option.

Do not enter fake producer information just to get past the upload screen.

13 Upload Your Audio

DistroKid accepts several audio formats, including:

• WAV
• FLAC
• MP3
• M4A
• AIFF
• WMA

For high-quality audio, WAV or FLAC is a good choice.

14 Upload Your Album Artwork

Upload the artwork you prepared earlier.

• Square artwork
• JPG format
• RGB color
• 1000 × 1000 minimum

15 Review Everything

Before submitting your music, carefully check everything.

• Artist name is correct
• Song title is correct
